"El hombre es enemigo de lo que ignora: enseña una lengua y evitarás una guerra, expande una cultura y acercarás un pueblo a otro" NAÍM BOUTANOS. "If you speak to a man in a language he understands, you speak to his head. If you speak to a man in his own language, you speak to his heart" NELSON MANDELA « C'est une langue bien difficile que le français. À peine écrit-on depuis quarante-cinq ans qu'on commence à s'en apercevoir. » Colette

Binta y la Gran Idea (Binta and the Great Idea)
Binta is a 7 year old girl who lives in a small charming village on the Casamance river in southern Senegal. She goes to school. Her cousin Soda does not have the same good fortune. She is not allowed to learn about the things of the world.
Binta admires her father, a humble fisherman who, concerned about the development of mankind, is determined to carry out an idea that has occurred to him.
This is one of 5 short films in a series entitled En el Mundo a Cada Rato (Every So Often in the World). These films were made in collaboration with UNICEF in order to increase solidarity for the children in the third world. All of the profits will forever go to Unicef programs for children.
